William E. “Bill” Gallagher, 80 of Ruffs Dale, passed away, December 27, 2020. He was born January 8, 1940 in Lower Tyrone Township a son of the late Robert and Caroline (Gove) Gallagher.
Bill retired from Sysco where he worked as a food salesman. He was a longtime and active member of the Dawson Volunteer Fire Company where he served as past president. He was also a member of the Vanderbilt Church of Christ. Bill was an avid Steelers fan, he loved camping and always put others before himself.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 58 years, Sondra Lee (Austin) Gallagher, his two children, William P. Gallagher and wife Teresa and Terri Lynn Winterhalter and husband Riney; three grandchildren, Jay Gallagher (Rebecca), Megan Durham (Christian), Riney Winterhalter (Shadda) and a sister, Muriel Fristch (George).
A memorial service for Bill will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1 pm in the Vanderbilt Church of Christ, 218 Walnut Street, Vanderbilt, with Pastor Greg Pelc officiating, followed by a service from his brothers and sisters of the Dawson VFC. Arrangements are in the care of GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Scottdale.
