David Porter

David A. Porter, 78 of Scottdale, passed away, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at his home.  He was born November 21, 1943 in East Huntingdon Township a son of the late Edward and Mary (Gerke) Porter.

Dave retired from Southmoreland School District where he taught seventh and eighth grade science at the former Junior High School.  He was a lifelong and active member of Jacob’s Creek United Methodist Church, Scottdale.  Dave was a kind and giving individual who always thought of others.

He is survived by his loving and devoted children, Dr. Barbara Porter Domenico and her husband Frank, Edward Porter and his wife Tracy and Eric Porter and his wife Jodi; three grandchildren, Danielle Domenico, and Elizabeth and Nathaniel Porter; his dear companion, Betty Chearney; his sister, Florence Clarkson, several nieces and nephews and members of the Herbert family who were special to him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra R. (Herbert) Porter on December 19, 2017; a sister, Donna Rumbaugh and a brother Ralph Porter.

Family and friends are welcome on Friday from 4 to 8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in Jacobs Creek United Methodist Church 5543 Scottdale-Dawson Road, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastor, Rev.
