William R. “Bill” Schomer, Sr. 68 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2026 in UPMC Presbyterian. He was born April 14, 1957 in Mt. Pleasant a son of the late Jack and Maxine (Gunder) Schomer.
Bill was a retired Social Worker having worked for Advance Living Options and was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and Army. A faithful member of Grace Fellowship Church, Everson Bill enjoyed fishing, visiting waterfalls, western movies and watching Fox News. He treasured trips to Ocean City, Maryland, baking cookies with his grandchildren and chocolate malts from Dairy Queen. He also enjoyed his pets, Daisy Mae, Buddy and Boo Kitty.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Vaughn) Schomer with whom he celebrated 41 years of marriage on January 19th. his children, Lizabeth Silvis (Jason), Tiffany Schomer, Bill Schomer (Jenna) and Christine Stahl (Ben); his grandchildren, Hannah, Parker, Hunter, Rachel and Jacob; his siblings, Jack Robert Schomer, Jr (Renea), Jerry Schomer (Becky), Diane Hollenbeck (George), Kathi Thomas (Henry), Ron Schomer (Charlene) and Jeff Schomer (Susan), also surviving are his brothers and sisters in law, Roy Vaughn, Gail Vaughn, Buford Vaughn and Brenda Griffith (Dewey) and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Schomer.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Saturday from 10 to 11 am at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale where his funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 am with Pastor Brian Swan officiating. Military honors will be bestowed on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Fellowship Church 412 Painter St. Everson, PA 15631.
