William Santmyer
September 16, 1932 — August 20, 2016
William D. Santmyer, 83, of Scottdale, passed away, Saturday, August 20, 2016 in Greensburg Care Center. He was born September 16, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant a son of the late William F. and Jane (Myers) Santmyer.
Bill retired from Duraloy Blaw Knox, Scottdale, where he was a melter. He was a US Army veteran, an avid hunter and a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie (Mulhorn) Santmyer; three children, Christine Shaffer (James); Bobbi Loraine Jones (Shawn) and William D. “Bill” Santmyer; five grandchildren, Shawn Patrick Jones, Christopher James Jones, Joshua David Jones, Emily Faye Kelley and Tiffany Bradley; two great-grandchildren, Veaira and Emmett; and two sisters, Charlene Goodwin and Bonnie Leichliter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Norman Santmyer.
Bill’s family will honor his memory during a private remembrance service at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale.
