William J. "Bill" Balgosky, 79, a lifelong resident of Everson, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville while being comforted by his loving family. He was born March 18, 1933 in Connellsville a son of the late Andrew and Agnes Ferenchua Balgosky.
Bill was a devout catholic and faithful member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Everson. He graduated from Scottdale High School with the class of 1950. He retired from US Steel-Christy Park and from Frick Hospital as a security guard.
He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Scottdale American Legion Post 240; Scottdale VFW Post 7781 and a life member of the former Fraternal Order of Eagles in Scottdale.
Bill loved to work in his garden and share the fruits of his labor with family and friends.
Bill was a loving husband and father. He leaves his memories to be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Anna L. (Steindl) Balgosky whom he married January 24, 1953; his two loving children, daughter, Kathy A. Camlin and husband Mark of Scottdale; and son, Richard J. Balgosky and wife Carol of Connellsville; and his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Balgosky and a sister, Eleanor Gricheck; and his best four legged pal- Bandit.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday from 1 to 8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, 724) 887-7110 an Authorized Remembrance Provider, Prayers of transfer will be held Tuesday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson with Fr. John A. Sedlak as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held on Monday at 3:45 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to St. Joseph RC Church, 201 Painter St. Everson, Pa 15631. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Amedisys Hospice for the care they provided to Bill.
