Viola Reese

Viola P. Reese, 96 of Scottdale, passed away, Saturday, April 11, 2015 while in Harmon House Care Center, Mt. Pleasant. She was born January 29, 1919 in East Huntingdon Township a daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle (Stoner) Korns.
Mrs. Reese was a longtime and faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church, Scottdale, where she had served in many roles including former teacher of the FRS Sunday School class, a member of King's Daugthers, administrative board member and board secretary, member and past secretary and president of the United Methodist Women and a district officer for the United Methodist Women. Years ago, she served as the church secretary.
She had been employed as secretary to the president of Connecticut General Life Insurance and had also worked for the Southmoreland School District as elementary secretary, school board secretary and secretary to the Superintendent for many years. Mrs. Reese was a graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1937 and a graduate of Duff's Business Institute.
Surviving are her four children, Marjorie Murphy and husband James, Richard (Dickie) Reese, Linda Ridenour and husband Dennis and Debra Woodford and husband Melvin; seven grandchildren, Jim and Brian Murphy, Jennifer Domonkos, Todd and Ryan Ridenour and Jimmy and Johnny Woodford and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was prededed in death by her husband Robert T. Reese (1966) and a daughter, Kathy Reese (1968).
Family and friends are welcome at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday from 10 until 11 am the hour of funeral services with her pastor, Rev.
