Vincent P. Lewandowski, 78, of Everson, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his family. Vince was born March 24, 1931 in Everson a son of the late Joseph and Stephania Szwed Lewandowski. Vince retired from Teledyne-Summerill Inc., Scottdale after 34 years service. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Everson and was a veteran of the US Navy. Vince was active as a Boy Scout and Cub Scout Leader with Troop #160 Everson. In addition, he coached several baseball leagues including, the Scottdale Boys League; Scottdale American Legion League and the Fay West League. He was also a former member of the Everson VFW Post 595. Vince is survived by his loving wife, Alice (Beran) Lewandowski whom he married July 20, 1957; his loving children, David Lewandowski of Mt. Pleasant; Tim Lewandowski of Scottdale; Diane M. Lewandowski and Ray Shandorf of Upper Tyrone Twp; and Carole Lemley of Smithton; 5 beloved grandchildren, Jeffrey Lemley; Lacey Lemley and fiancAC. Chris Trenk; Dean Lewandowski; Christina Lewandowski and Nick Cunningham; three sisters, Dorothy Metzner of Jacksonville, NC; Veronica Lewandowski, of Everson and Phyllis Sulkowski of Chicago, IL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alexander and Joseph Lewandowski and a sister, Regina Kunka. Family and friends are welcome on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 9 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale (724) 887-7110 where prayers of transfer will be held 9:30 am on Saturday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. Joseph R.C.
