Vicki L. Hribal, 65 of Scottdale, passed away peacefully Monday, October 28, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 7, 1959, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Jack and Nancy (Knipple) Sherbondy.
Prior to her recent retirement, Vicki was employed as a Claims Representative for Service Master, Connellsville. Her previous employment included NAPA Auto in Scottdale and Mt. Pleasant, where she was a secretary/bookkeeper, and as an office manager for Pechin’s Grocery. She was a 1977 graduate of Southmoreland High School and a 1981 graduate of the Laurel Business Institute. Vicki was truly the life of the party and could light up a room. She brought laughter and fun to all occasions. Those close to her knew her as “Big Red!” She enjoyed her membership at the PAK, reading and dancing. She was said to be the first on the dance floor and the last one off. She was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pitt Panthers. Vicki cherished annual trips to Myrtle Beach with her husband, Alan. Additionally, she loved all things Christmas. As a member of St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church she decorated the trees at church for the Christmas season. Vicki also treasured her pet Maltese, “Snow.”
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Alan J. Hribal; her children, Jill Godzilevsky and her husband, Alex, and their children, Karson and Xandr; A.J. Hribal and his wife, My and their daughter, Leilani; her sister, Cindy Pocratsky and her husband, Richard; her nieces and nephews and families, Aliesha Walz (Andy) and children, Leopold and Hugo; Briana Pocratsky (Josh); Matthew Hribal (Megan) and son, Lincoln; her brothers in law and families, Ron Hribal (Mary) and son, Kevin Pritts, Donna Hribal; and great niece, Sophia and Richard (Mark) Hribal.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Covert “Coby” and Helen (Lilliock) Hribal and two nephews, Christopher Hribal and Tyler Hillegas.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Independence Latrobe Hospital for the great care they provided to Vicki. Also, a special acknowledgement to the many family members and friends who visited Vicki in her final days; some of whom traveled a distance to be with her.
Family and friends are welcome to a celebration of her life on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10 am in St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, 525 Porter Avenue, Scottdale. Private inurnment will take place in St. John Byzantine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Byzantine Church or the Humane Society of Westmoreland County 139 Humane Society Rd, PO Box 1552 Greensburg, PA 15601.
