Veronica (Raymond) Cripps, 80 of Connellsville, a well-known area seamstress, passed away, Friday, July 22, 2011 in Excela Health Frick Hospital. She was born January 24, 1931 in Uniontown a daughter of the late Thomas and Julia Rish Yanecko.
Veronica was a member of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, Connellsville. For many years, she was self-employed as a seamstress noted for her talent in clothing and accessory repairs, as well as, alterations for weddings.
She is survived by her loving sons and family, Stanley Raymond and his wife Rebecca of Scottdale; and Patrick Raymond and his wife Molly of Chesapeake, VA; three grandchildren, Michael Raymond and wife Candice of Mt. Pleasant; Katie Jones and husband Chris of Greensburg and Zachary Raymond of Chesapeake, VA; four great-grandchildren, Addison Rebecca Jones, Avery Ann Jones, Caylin Leigh Raymond and Ainsley Alyn Jones; two sisters, Mary Pender and Madelyn Virich both of Pittsburgh and a brother, Michael Yanecko and wife Dorothy of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Anthony H. Raymond (1978) ; her second husband, H.R. Cripps (1997); her daughter, Barbara Eason; a great-granddaughter, Monica Margaret Jones; two sisters, Pauline Korchek and Ann Egri; and three brothers, Thomas, Steve and John Yanecko.
Family and friends will be received at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110) An Authorized Remembrance Provider on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A blessing service will be held on Monday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale, with Rev. E. George Saletrik as celebrant. Interment will be private.
