Thomas J. Sidlovsky, 75 of Scottdale, passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital at Jeannette. He was born December 20, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant a son of the late John and Clara Honeychuck Sidlovsky.
Tom retired from Anchor Hocking Cap Plant, Connellsville with 43 years service as the Electronics Shop Manager. He served in the US Army Signal Corps during the Korean Conflict at Camp Gordon, Georgia. He was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale. Until recently, Tom was an active member of the Visitation R.C. Church Bowling League and he enjoyed gardening, planting and the outdoors. He was also a proud blood donor with the American Red Cross.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Miedel) Ringler Sidlovsky whom he married July 25, 1985; a step-daughter, Barbara J. Underwood and her husband James of Scottdale; five step grandchildren, Steven Sellers; Nicholas Underwood; Brandy Mason and husband Randall; Ashley Underwood and fiancAC. Brian Czekaj; and JD Underwood; three step great-grandchildren, Olivia and Gabrielle Sellers and Erik Mason; three sisters, Mary Ann Rafacz of Mt. Pleasant; Theresa Sidlovksy and Dorothy Morgan and husband Dennis all of Lorain, OH: two brothers, George Sidlovsky and wife Mary of Mt. Pleasant and Larry Sidlovsky and wife Arlene of Lorain, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Snyder (2004) and Bernadette Sidlovsky (1945).
Family and friends are welcome at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110) on Monday from 7-9 and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale with Fr. E. George Saletrik, as celebrant and Fr. Emil S. Payer as con-celebrant. Private interment will take place in Visitation R.C. Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Military Honors will be conducted following the funeral mass by Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #446. St. John's Ministry of Consolation will conduct a wake service on Tuesday at 3:30 pm in the funeral home.
