Theresa A. Benedict

Theresa A. Benedict, 82 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Monday, Sept. 22, 2025. She was born May 29, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late John and Florence (Morrocco) Benedict.

Theresa worked in health care as a registered nurse and had been employed at Westmoreland Hospital, followed by working for several local doctors, including Dr. Gilchrist, Drs. Maxwell & Dull, Drs. Travers & Fahmy and Dr. Christine O’Brien.

She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister of Communion. Theresa stayed active by participating in golf, traveling and visiting the casino. She was a long-time volunteer for the Mt. Pleasant Cat Committee giving of her time and assistance.

She is survived by several special cousins from the Morrocco and Benedict families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Benedict.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale. The Angels of Westmoreland Honor Guard will conduct a tribute and honors ceremony at 10:30 am followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 am. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
