Roy Ambrose, Jr. 87 of Connellsville, passed away, Wednesday, July 30, 2014. He was born November 18, 1926 in Trotter a son of the late Roy Ambrose, Sr. and Edith Allen Ambrose.

Roy retired as an operating superintendent with West Penn Power, Connellsville Division with 40 years service. He was previously co-owner and operator of the former Dairy Delight in Connellsville. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Connellsville. Following his retirement, Roy remained active enjoying hunting, fishing and golfing at Pleasant Valley Country Club where he had been a longtime member. He and his wife Martha were also avid Pittsburgh Pirates fans and enjoyed spending time with their family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Martha A. (Britt) Ambrose; his devoted children, Alan A. Ambrose and wife Lauretta of Mt. Pleasant; Connie D. Heide and husband Marshall of Mammoth; his grandchildren, Heidi Jacquillard (Jim); Lori Champagne (Ray); Heather Hunter (Alex); Hayley Beaver (Paul) and Michelle Metz; his great-grandchildren, Justina, Luke, Lily, Allie, Camille, Kaylyn, Jake and Jacob.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, June Piasecki and Lois Whoric.

Family and friends are welcome on Friday from 4-7 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale where services will be held Saturday at 10 am in the funeral home. Chapel committal services and entombment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
Visitation: Friday 4 to 7 pm
Service: Saturday 10 am
