Robert D. Luft, 80 of Scottdale, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 01, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born March 4, 1931 in Wyano a son of the late William and Gladys (Corella) Luft.
Bob was a retired steelworker having worked at National Tube and Christy Park. Most recently, he was employed in the maintenance department at Westmoreland Mall. He was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School and a member of Wellspring Church, Scottdale. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member and past commander of Scottdale American Legion Post 240.
Bob is survived by his loving family, including his wife Janice of 43 years, his children, Robert Luft, Tina Mattis, Michael Luft, Tony Luft and David Luft; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers Tom, Lawrence and Jim Luft and a sister, Betty DeRosa and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome at GR-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, 724-887-7110 (an Authorized Remembrance Provider) on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Friday from 9 am until the time of services at 11 am in the funeral home with Rev. Stuart Adams, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Tarrs with military honors bestowed by the Southmoreland Veteran's Association Honor Guard.
