Richard C. "Ric" Brown, Jr. 50, of New Kensington, formerly of Scottdale, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, October 19, 2007 at his home.
Ric was born July 17, 1957 in Mount Pleasant a son of Richard C. Brown, Sr. and Thelma Torrance Brown of Scottdale (Mt. Nebo).
Ric was owner of Pittsburgh Gormet Avenue Catering Company, South Side, Pittsburgh. He was a former member of the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Southmoreland High School with the class of 1975. Ric enjoyed gardening, his pets and spending time at the family cabin in McKean County.
In addition to his parents, Richard and Thelma Brown, Ric is survived by three sisters, Amy Herman and husband (Albert) "Bo" of Connellsville; Gina Collins and husband James of Mt. Pleasant; and Kari Johnson and husband Dave of Scottdale; the following nieces and nephews, Ryan and Tiffany Maceyko; Amanda and Brandon Collins and Alyssa Johnson; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; his loving and loyal friend, Joseph Olearchik of New Kensington and his faithful pets, Dolly, Jericho and Scarlet.
Ric was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Muriel (Hough) Brown and his maternal grandparents, Edward and Minnie (Pletcher) Torrance.
Services will be private for the family with the Rev. Roy Butt officiating.
