Reida Murphy

Reida J. Murphy, 74 of Greensburg, formerly of Luxor, passed away, Saturday, August 16, 2014 in Westmoreland Manor. She was born April 14,1940 in Mt. Pleasant a daughter of the late Floyd Harold and Emma Jene Long.

Reida was a houskeeper having worked for several families over the years. She also greatly enjoyed her companions Troubles and Max whom she frequently walked at Twin Lakes Park.

In addition to her parents, Reida was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Bunny) Murphy; her step-mother, Ruth (Grimme) Long; and two half-brothers, Harry (Buddy) Long and Richard Long.

She is survived by her sister, Janet L. Kaczynski and husband Ron; a half-brother Douglas Long and wife Sharon; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Kristin (Ridenour) Blaney and a special great-nephew, Tommy Hixson.

Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday from 4-8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale where services will be held at 8 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Stephen C. Moore, officiating. Private interment will take place in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. For online condolences and information, please visit www.gjfuneral.com.
