Rebecca “Becky” Ann Cottom, 84, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at her home in Scottdale. She was the wife of Henry Blaine Cottom with whom she shared 46 years of marriage together.
She was born March 31, 1941, in Dawson (Lower Tyrone Township) a daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Dull) Hough. Becky graduated from Frazier High School in 1959 and worked at Anchor Hocking, however, she most cherished being a loving homemaker.
She belonged to Tyrone Presbyterian Church for most of her life and more recently attended Wesley Chapel Church. Her cooking and baking helped aid many fundraisers. She will be remembered for baking hundreds of loaves of chocolate zucchini bread, homemade bread, strawberry jam and giving them all away. During the holidays she made pumpkin rolls. Canning for days from all of the bounties from her garden and tending to her flower beds also brought her happiness. In her younger years, she enjoyed horse back riding and roller skating with her friends. She loved hosting large family picnics throughout the years. Becky also enjoyed traveling with her family and most recently visited Alaska. Her excitement to share a tragic story at the weekly Thursday night family dinners was always a highlight.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Blaine Cottom, her daughter Bobbie (McGill) Sirianni and husband Dominic, her son John Owen McGill all of Scottdale; granddaughter Morgan (Sirianni) Barlet and husband Eric of Farmington Hills, MI; granddaughter, Mackenzie McGill of Alverton; great-grandson, Justin Barlet of Farmington Hills, MI; many beloved nieces and nephews; her best friend Rhoda Sue (Davis) Yanecko and her two cats Taz and Sam.
