Raymond J. McLean, Jr. 77 of Smithton, passed away, Monday, August 27, 2012 in Excela Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born May 22, 1935 in Scottdale a son of the late Raymond J. McLean, Sr. and Ada Blanche (Murray) McLean.
Ray retired from Gerald King Lumber and was a veteran of the US Army. He was an active member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God where he volunteered in many capacities. Ray enjoyed reading, and gardening. He was an outdoorsman and spent a lot of time mowing, trimming or cutting and stacking lumber.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Grace M. (Lane) McLean; three children, Suzanne Saccani; Patricia McLean and Jeffrey McLean and his wife Sheila; six grandchildren, Allison; Maria; Alicia; Katlyn; Zachary and Sydney; and a great-grandson, Zeppelin; a sister, Mary Louise Geyer; three brothers, Samuel McLean and wife Velma; David McLean and wife Frances and Homer McLean and wife Nancy and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Raymond J. McLean, III; a sister, Margaret "Toots" Ware and a brother, Charles McLean.
Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., an authorized remembrance provider, 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, (724) 887-7110. Additional viewing will be held in the Mt. Pleasant Church of God, 936 W. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant on Thursday from 10 to 10:30 am the time of services with Pastor Brad Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, East Huntingdon Township.
