Raymond Dye

November 27, 1926 — March 26, 2010

Raymond K. Dye, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, March 26, 2010 in Excela Westmoreland Hospital comforted by his loving family. He was born November 27, 1926 in Grove City a son of the late Robert and Nina Fern Rodawalt Dye. Ray was a retired tool and die maker having worked for the former Anchor Hocking Cap Division. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII. In addition, he was a member of the Scottdale Church of Christ, a lifetime member of the VFW Post #21 Connellsville; Connellsville Senior Tigers where he formerly served as vice president and volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was also a member of he Board of Directors with the Glass Cap Federal Credit Union and had served in the capacity of president. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Gerald Dye. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ruth A. (Witt) Dye; his children, Jacqueline A. Zeissler and husband Myron of Canonsburg; Janice Rae Rath and companion Charles Kevicki of Mt. Pleasant and Anita Marie Dye of Florida; the following grandchildren, Jacque E. Pallone and husband Dr. Arthur Pallone; Dr. Jennifer E. Day; Matthew A. Day and wife Alma; Erin Murphy; Justin Shallenberger and wife Devon; Heather and Wayne Rath; Kenny and Kevin Masek and Christy Randell; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Day and Julius Shallenberger; his brothers and sisters, Richard Dye (Claire) of Florentine, MO; Donald Dye (Judy) of Villa Rica, GA; and Martha Pritchard (Don) of Hanover and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110) on Sunday from 6-8 pm and Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm where funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday with Pastor Bob Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with military honors bestowed by VFW Post #21.
