Pauline Hunter

October 17, 1922 — April 29, 2011

Pauline Hunter, 88 of Mt. Pleasant, (Bridgeport), passed away peacefully, Friday, April 29, 2011 at her home. She was born October 17, 1922 in Proctor, TX a daughter of the late Ponnie Edward and Pearl Brinson Smith.

Pauline was a loving homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Bridgeport Sportsmen's Club and enjoyed horse racing. She was a groomer at the Meadows Race track for a number of years. She was also a former member of the Proctor Baptist Church.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Jack Sutherland and his family; her loving sons, David W. Hunter, Jr. and his wife Cathy; and Charles W. Hunter and Cheryl Lipko all of Mt. Pleasant; her grandchildren, Paula Love; Alex Hunter; Donna Griffiths; Debra Bloom and David W. Hunter, III: 9 great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Edward Smith, Eunice Harbin and Juanita Erwin; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Hunter and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Hunter, Sr. and a brother J.C. Smith.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, (724-887-7110 where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 am in the funeral home with Patsor Lee Maley officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Twp. The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice and Dr. Paul Means for the care they provided Pauline.
