Nellie King

Nellie F. King, 61, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 13, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 8, 1948 in Manassas, Virginia, a daughter of Retha Mae Steele who survives. Nellie was a well-known and active resident of the Scottdale community having been employed by the Scottdale Bank and Trust, as well as operating Nellie's Place in Scottdale for many years. She was a member of Pennsville Baptist Church and former member of the Scottdale Women's Garden Club. Nellie is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Charles H. King, Jr.; her loving children, Bonnie Blackburn and her husband Steve; Lisa Williams; Charles L. King and his wife Gerri and Jeff King; five grandchildren, Alyssa and Zachary Berch; Stephen Blackburn; and Alexis and Ava King; a daughter-in-law, Peace King; and three brothers, Wesley Eye; David Eye and Bobby Eye. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Eye. Family and friends are welcome on Monday from 4 to 9 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110) where services will be held Tuesday at 10 am with Rev. Dr. Terry V. Murray officiating. Graveside committal services and interment will follow in the Scottdale Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Pennsville Baptist Church 3298 Richey Road, Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666 in memory of Nellie F. King.
