Nathan Weissberg

Nathan Weissberg, 80, of Smithton (S. Huntingdon Twp.), passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009 after a tragic automobile accident took his life suddenly. Born December 21, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY he was a son of the late Max and Eva Weissberg. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Bach Weissberg of Smithton; his children, Eliot Weissberg and his wife Kathy of Simsbury, CT, Lori Weissberg and her partner Marianne of Boxborough, MA, Terry Weissberg and his wife Lorraine of Boynton Beach, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren and his former wife, Florence Weissberg and many nieces and nephews. Nathan served in the US Army in Berlin, Germany after World War II. He worked in many sales roles until finally settling in to a career in the life insurance industry achieving lifetime membership in the million dollar round table, a distinction he was very proud of. Nathan was an avid ballroom dancer starting as a young man when he taught dancing, summers in the Catskills. Nathan was a very outgoing man who would be a friend to all he met. He loved to dress to impress and had a kind spot in his heart for animals of all kinds that would let him feed or pet them. Later in life he went on to become very active in the Salvation Army as an officer. Most recently he attended the Calvary Chapel in Greensburg, where he was an avid Bible reader. There will be no visitation or services. Arrangements are in the care of GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale (724) 887-7110.
