Naomi Dove

Naomi M. Dove, 94, of Scottdale, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2007 in Jo-Ella's Personal Care Home, Scottdale.

She was born September 13, 1912 in Martinsburg, Blair County a daughter of the late Harry M. and Bertha C. Hicks McClain.

Mrs. Dove was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Trinity Episcopal Church, Scottdale where she was previously active as a Sunday school teacher and the former Ladies Auxiliary of the church. She enjoyed gardening, baking and sewing and was an avid reader.

Mrs. Dove is survived by, a daughter, Dorcas D. Echard of Scottdale; two sons, Marquis E. Dove, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Bullskin Twp; and Ronald G. Dove, Sr. and his wife Nancy of Clinton, S.C; nine-grandchildren, James Echard, Jr. and wife Jan of Scottdale; Marquis W. Echard and wife Linda of Seymour, IN; Marquis Dove, III and Lucky of Scottdale; Brian N. Dove and wife Debbie of Rostraver Twp; Lindsey Dove of Bullskin Twp.; Ronald G. Dove, Jr. and wife Connie of Derwood, MD; Donald M. Dove and wife Jennie and Krystal L. Dove all of Havrede Grace, MD; and Dennis A. Dove and wife Amy of Shelbyville, KY; 14 great-grandchildren; a former daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Bentz of Scottdale; numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Gerald McClain of Los Angeles,CA; and a special niece, LeAnna Collier of West Palm Beach, FL.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marquis E. Dove, Sr., on Jan. 24, 1994;and two brothers, Victor and William McClain.

Family and friends are welcome at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale on Friday from 2-5 & 7-9 pm. A parting prayer will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am in the funeral home followed by services at 11 am in St. Bartholomew Trinity Episcopal Church, Chestnut St and Walnut Ave., Scottdale with Fr. Charles P. Martin and Fr. H.J. Rudisill officiating. Graveside committal services and interment will follow in Pennsville Independent Cemetery, Bullskin Twp.
