Mary K. "Kay" Williams, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, (formerly of Connellsville) passed away, Tuesday, November 06, 2007 at home. She was born April 21, 1913 in Maryland a daughter of the late George and Birdie Poling Hopwood.
Kay was a loving mother and grandmother. Years ago, she received her Beautician's license and operated her own Beauty Shop in Brownsville. She was also employed as a sales clerk at the former Morris Clothing Store in the Laurel Mall. Kay was a member of Mt. Carmel Community Church, Mt. Pleasant where she sang in the church choir. In her spare time, she volunteered as a receptionist at the Mt. Carmel Christian School. Her favorite pastimes were knitting and shopping.
Kay is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Darlah and Gary Zimmerman of Mt. Pleasant with whom she resided; two granddaughters, Tiffany Anderson-Heinauer and husband Eric of Pittsburgh; and Christy Bell and husband James of Mt. Pleasant; four great grandchildren, Cassandra Heinauer; Ryan King; Eric and Adam Bell; and her very special friends, Ralph and Betty Shaffer of Connellsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell V. Williams and three brothers, Donald, Peter and George Hopwood.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale (724) 887-7110 where services will be held Saturday at 11 am with Pastor Rick Fox officiating.
