Madeline Bando, 86, of Scottdale, our beloved wife and mother went home to heaven to be with Jesus on Friday, January 04, 2008. She was born December 25, 1921 in Upper Tyrone Township (Kiefertown) a daughter of the late Pasquale and Susie VanSickle Engatti.
Madeline was a loving Christian wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother. Mimi, as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren would affectionately call her, was always ready to spread the message of her deep religious faith in Jesus. On Sundays she would always have a dish of lasagna or pasta and famous sauce and salad ready for anyone who would stop by to visit.
Madeline is survived her loving husband of 63 years, William Bando; her two sons, Anthony W. Bando of Scottdale and Richard J. Bando and his wife Jeanne of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren, William J. Bando, Jeannine Santmyer, Jennifer Bando, Anthony E. Bando, Jamie Ingelido and Emily Bando; six great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Ali, Shayla, Brenden, Rylee and Mercedes; three sisters, Mildred Geyer and Josephine Swallop both of Scottdale and Daisy Dettling of Cleveland, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent White and three sisters, Mary Coppetti; Rose Brant and Ann Suchocki.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Madeline's life on Saturday from 6-8 pm and Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale (724) 887-7110 where services will be held Monday at 11 am.
