Lucy M. Welch

Lucy M. Welch, 94 of Scottdale, (East Huntingdon Township) passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 23, 2026. She was born March 20, 1932 in Morgantown, WV a daughter of the late John and Bertha (Albright) Shaffer.

Lucy was devoted to her family as a loving homemaker. She found great joy spending time with her grandchildren and talking with friends by phone. A member of Wesley Chapel Church, she belonged to the Women’s Group and made lap robes for nursing home residents. She was talented at crocheting and needle point and shared the cross bookmarks she made with family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted family, a son Barry Rohm (Shirley), Cindy Rhodes (Randy), her grandchildren, Michelle Haley (Matt) and their children, Harrison and Faith; Barry Lee Rohm (Brenda) and their children, Caroline, Benjamin and Vivian; Michael Rohm (Jackie) and their children, Landon and Grace; Justin Rhodes (Stephanie) and their children, Bella, Nick and Fiona; Matthew Welch (Alexis) and their daughter, Gabrielle; and Heather Welch (Jeff) and their daughter, Madison, sisters-in-law, Lois Welch and Joanne Welch, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis H. Welch on Sept. 20, 2019; her son, Dallas Welch on June 20, 2026, and her siblings, Edward Shaffer, Margaret Rendine, Bessie Sembower, and Bobby Shaffer.
