Joyce Pinney

Joyce J. Pinney, 84, of Connellsville, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh. She was born March 1, 1925 in Birmingham, AL., a daughter of the late Frank and Helen Hackman Janecek. Mrs. Pinney was a graduate of Windham High School, Ohio and the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, Akron. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as registered nurse at Highlands Hospital, Connellsille and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Connellsville. She is survived by her three children, Annette Whalen of Lynchburg, VA: Todd Pinney of Boulder, CO; and Sharon Pinney and husband Anthony Kiliany Scottdale; five grandchildren, Stephanie Bertorelli; David Cunningham; Natasha Jones; Todd Cunningham and Siena Pinney; and three great grandchildren, Sophie, Madison and Hunter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe E. Pinney, Jr. a son, Melvin Pinney; a brother, Frank Janecek, Jr.; and two sisters, Helen Bowser and Elaine Lach Family and friends are invited to the Congregational United Church of Christ, Main St. Windham, OH on Tuesday from 11 am to 12 pm. Interment will follow in the Windham Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, (724-887-7110).
