Josephine Loucks

June 11, 1912 — August 24, 2007

Josephine Loucks, 95, a longtime Scottdale resident, passed away Friday, August 24, 2007 at Harmon House Care Center, Mt. Pleasant. She was born June 11, 1912 in Scottdale a daughter of the late William and Anna Berger Taylor.

Mrs. Loucks and her late husband Jewell operated the Loucks Dairy Farm along with her brother and sister in law Don and Lela Loucks in East Huntingdon Township for many years. She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Scottdale where she belonged to the Clingerman Class, the United Methodist Women, and the Isabella Thoburn Circle. She previously belonged to several Senior Citizen's Organizations.

She is survived by her daughter, Stella Loucks Tallentire of Scottdale; two granddaughters, Vickie Davy and Susan Burelson; a grandson Stephen Loucks; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, including Gary Loucks of Jefferson City, TN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell K. Loucks on Dec. 29, 1975 a son, Vinton D. Loucks, Sept. 4, 1993; a grandson, James D. Tallentire on Aug. 16, 1980 a son in law, James W. Tallentire on June 27, 2002; a sister, Isabel Taylor Crates and five brothers, Frank, Lee, Clark, J. Warren and Gale Taylor. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Family and friends are welcome on Sunday from 2-8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale (724-887-7110) Additional viewing will be held on Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Mulberry & Hickory Sts, Scottdale from 10-11 am the hour of services with her pastor, Rev. Stephen Moore officiating. Private interment will take place in Scottdale Cemetery.
