James A. Dayoob

James A. Dayoob, 94 of Scottdale, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 4, 2023.  

He was born April 8, 1929 in Everson a son of the late Alex and Alice (Nasser) Dayoob.

Jim was a member of St. Michael’s Orthodox Christian Church, Greensburg.  He was a graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1947 and received a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University in 1957.  He excelled in baseball and football at WVU.  Jim retired from American General Insurance Company, as well as owning, The White House Inn Restaurant and Lounge for many years.  He was a US Army Veteran serving from 1951 to 1953 and belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his sister, Helen of Camarillo, CA; a brother, Richard of Chandler, AZ. He is also survived by Joyce Rhoades, a very close friend for more than 30 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Dayoob, five sisters and four brothers.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at St. Michael’s Church 1182 Ashland Ave. Greensburg where a prayer service will be held at 7pm.  Jim’s Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday at 10:30 am in the church with Archpriest John Nosal officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh in memory of Jamie Dayoob.
