Jack E. Davis, 93 of Scottdale, passed away, Monday, July 5, 2021. He was born August 31, 1927 at Indian Head a son of the late Vernon and Elarie (Boring) Davis.
Jack was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the former Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church where served as a trustee. He was also member of the church dart ball league and enjoyed bowling. Jack also cherished time with the “coffee club” at the Brownfield Community Center. Jack retired from Teledyne, Inc, Scottdale, He was also a well-known fixture at Quality Support, Scottdale where he took up his second career working for his son, Jack. He was also a veteran of the US Navy serving during WW II serving aboard the USS Shangri-La.
He is survived by his three children, Nancy Davis Lang and her husband, Duane; Jack E. Davis, II and his wife Mary Carol and Kathy Davis and her husband Edwin; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Helen Branthoover, James Davis and Vernon “Dick” Davis and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife of 72 years, Louise K. (Johnson) Davis on December 16, 2020; his brothers, Claude and Frank Davis and his sisters, Lois June Glassburn, Pauline Newell and Ruth Ann Davis.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside inurnment service for Jack on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1 pm at the Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery, Mill Run, with the Rev. Dale White and Rev. Roy Butt co-officiating. Military honors will be bestowed at the gravesite. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brownfield Community Center, 291 Banning Road, Dawson, PA 15428.
