Florence E. Shupe, 97, of Scottdale, passed away, Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Latrobe Select Specialty Hospital. She was born December 5, 1914 in Scottdale a daughter of the late Joel O.L. Johnson and Sara A. (Graft) Johnson.
Florence was a caring and devoted homemaker. She was a lifelong and oldest member of Calvin United Presbyterian Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher, a member of the Adult Fellowship, the Women's Circle and active with the Women's Kitchen Ministry. She was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School Class of 1931 and was proud of her high school accomplishments having graduated as class valedictorian. Her family was of utmost importance to her including the special relationship she shared with her grandchildren and their bonds of love and affection for her.
She is survived by her three loving children, Barbara A. Taylor and her husband, David of Greensburg; Linda L. Peduzzi and her husband Martin of Monaca and David C. Shupe and his wife Mary of Jeannette; her adoring grandchildren, Robert D. Taylor; Chris A. Coffman; Larry C. Taylor; Brian D. Coffman and Allison E. Shupe; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan & Kate Taylor and Adam Coffman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll E. Shupe on Oct. 30, 1989 a brother, Francis Johnson and a sister, Martha Dillon.
Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., a remembrance provider, 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, (724) 887-7110. where services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Rev.
