Ernest Stasko

Ernest J. Stasko, 84, of Scottdale, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 in Jo-Ella's Personal Care Home, Scottdale. He was born August 2, 1930 in West Mifflin a son of the late John and Anna (Yocubik) Stasko.

Ernie had been employed as an assembler for Volkswagen of America. He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean era and a former member of the Jeannette American Legion Post. Ernie was catholic by faith and was a member St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Bischan) Stasko; brothers, John Stasko, Jr, Andrew Stasko and Albert Stasko; sisters, Helen Olshalsky; Agnes Sabol and Dorothy Biros and his longtime partner, Clara Alberts.

He is survived by his son, James Stasko of Newport, Pa and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm where Prayers of Transfer will be recited on Wednesday at 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 am in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist RC Church, with Rev. Andrew M. Kawecki as celebrant. The Partner Parish Ministry of Consolation will conduct a vigil service on Tuesday at 1:45 pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. Memorials may be made to a local Animal Shelter or the American Cancer Society.
