Ellagene Diven

Ellagene M. "Toots" Diven, 95, of Scottdale, passed away, Friday evening, December 24, 2010 in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born April 17, 1915 in Scottdale a daughter of the late Charles and Irma Hostetler Niswonger.

Mrs. Diven retired from Connellsville Sportswear in 1977. She was a member of Pennsville Baptist Church where she was currently the oldest member. She taught Sunday School and also belonged to the Sunshine Class of the church. She was also a member of Uncle Charlie's Bowling League.

She is survived by two sisters, Elsie "Honey" Bungard of Scottdale and Stella Morgan of Lake Wales, FL: several nieces and nephews including, Connie M. Roy and family of Connellsville and several relatives of the Ben Diven family including, Walter and Barbara Miller of Scottdale.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ben Diven in 1989; two brothers, Gene and Joseph Niswonger and two sisters, Violet "Tops" Murray and Florence Forejt.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110), where additional visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 am until the hour of services at 11 am in the funeral home with Rev. Robert H. Bixel officiating. Interment will follow in Pennsville Independent Cemetery, Bullskin Twp.
