Elizabeth J. "Betty" Beal, 86, of Scottdale, passed away, Monday, July 11, 2011 in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant surrounded by her family. Betty was born September 16, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant a daughter of the late Cecil and Edna (Lewis) Loucks.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Scottdale where she was a longtime choir member; member of the Clingerman Class and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Scottdale and Bullskin Senior Citizens. In addition, she was a member of the D.A.R.; former member of the Laurel Swingers and a volunteer for W.C.C.C and the American Red Cross and a member of the Order of Eastern Star where she served as a Past Advisor for the Rainbow Girls.
Betty is survived by her loving and devoted family, daughter, Linda J. Banks and her husband, Jim of Scottdale; her son, Rev. Raymond H. Beal, Jr. and his wife Cora Lee of Dubois; five grandchildren, Chris Banks and wife Kim; Julie Ferrari and husband Bob; Doug Banks and wife Jennifer; Sara Beal; and Carrie Wakinekona and husband Shayne; six great-grandchildren, Stephen Carson, Riley Banks, Zoe Carson, Hannah Banks, Grace Wakinekona and Isabella Ferrari.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Beal, Sr., July 14, 1986; a great-grandson, Ethan Raymond Carson; a sister, Ruth Loucks and two brothers Arthur and Joseph Loucks.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110). Additional visitation will be held on Friday from 10 am until 11 am the time of funeral services in Trinity United Methodist Church, 501 Mulberry St. Scottdale with her pastor, Rev. Stephen C. Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, Scottdale in her memory.
