Edward Vinzani, Sr

Edward S. Vinzani , Sr. 71, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 04, 2011 at his home with his wife, Mary Ann at his side. Ed was born May 15, 1940 in Scottdale a son of the late Ascenzo and Lucia (Chiaravalle) Vinzani.
Ed was a graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1958 and a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1959 to 1963. He was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale where he had worked as a caretaker for the church and parochial school for several years. He had formerly been employed by the Modulas Corporation for 20 years and then worked with his longtime friend, Jimmy Fratto at Frank Fratto, Inc. for 18 years.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Ann (Dzambo) Vinzani whom married February 16, 1963; his devoted sons, Edward Vinzani, Jr and his wife Julie of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Dr. Kevin Vinzani and his wife Tricia of Acworth, GA; his granddaughter, Lucia Vinzani; three sisters, Irene Conty and Agnes Hudock both of Scottdale and Amelia Radziwon of Glenshaw; two brothers, Gilbert Vinzani of Valparaiso, IN and Ted Vinzani of Florence, S. Carolina and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son daughter two sisters, Louise Jakubak and Asunda Fiesta Carbanara and two brothers, Ben and Alfred Vinzani.
Family and friends are welcome at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110) An Authorized Remembrance Provider, on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday from 1to 4 & 7-9 pm. A blessing service will be held on Monday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery with full military honors bestowed by the Southmoreland Veteran's Association Honor Guard. St. John's Ministry of Consolation will conduct a wake service on Sunday at 1 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist RC Church 416 S. Broadway Scottdale, PA 15683 in his memory.
