Earl Hixson

Earl F. "Dick" Hixson, 83, of Scottdale, passed away, February 8, 2011 at his home. He was born August 29, 1927 in East Huntingdon Township a son of the late Gladys Kelly Hixson and the late Roy Hixson.

Dick was the owner of Hixson-Graft, Inc. of Scottdale and worked many years there with his son, Mark and his wife Anna Mae. He was a member of the Everson Evangelical Church and a former member of the Antique Automobile Club of America. He also was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps serving during World War II.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Anna Mae (Herrington) Hixson; his devoted children, Mark Hixson and his wife, Sharon of Tarrs; Sue Booher and her husband Dennis of Scottdale; Bryan Hixson and his wife Hope of Sandusky, OH; Todd Hixson and his wife Lyn of Hyde Park, NY; and Emily Fantuzzo and her husband Chris of Abington, PA; his grandchildren, Nathan Booher, Laura Booher, Kelly Hixson, Kimberly Hixson, Cody Hixson, Rachael Hixson, Cory Hixson, Catherine Fantuzzo, Chloe Hixson, Thomas Fantuzzo and Kylee Hixson; step grandchildren, Ashley Pfoutz and Mindy Pfoutz and a sister, Doris Brady of Connellsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Earl F. Hixson, Jr. and two grandchildren, Jonathan Booher and Anastasia Fantuzzo.

Family and friends will be received at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110) on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am in the funeral home with Rev. Robert B. Patton officiating. Interment will follow in the Scottdale Cemetery.
