Dorothy Myers
June 21, 1923 — January 28, 2011
Dorothy G. Myers, 87 of Scottdale, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 in Golden Living Center, Uniontown. She was born June 21, 1923 in Acme a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Brown.
Dorothy retired from Southmoreland School District where she was employed as a teacher's aide. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Scottdale and she enjoyed many good times playing bingo.
She is survived by her loving family: a daughter, Bonita R. Lucas and her husband, Ben of Crozet, VA; a son, Donald O. Myers and his wife Wilma of Scottdale; four grandchildren, Beth Ann Richter, Becky French, Dawn Marie Cramer, and Justin Whetsel; six great grandchildren, Zach, Gabbi and Luke French; Ben Richter and Destiny and Tray Whetsel; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oren S. Myers; five brothers, Elmer, Ben, Merle and David Brown and Will Harr; and five sisters, Nellie White, Erna Snyder, Edith Mowry, Sadie Strawn and Beula Foreman.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, (724-887-7110) where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday with Rev. Matthew C. Stabe officiating. Interment will follow in the Scottdale Cemetery.
