David H. "Pap" Stants, 81, of Ruffsdale, passed away, Monday, March 12, 2012 at his home. He was born June 1, 1930 in Ruffsdale a son of the late David E. and Mazzie V. (Soles) Stants.
He was a retired auto mechanic having worked for the former, Chelsted Motors, Greensburg. He enjoyed camping and landscaping and working on VW autos.
Pap is survived by his loving wife, Frances I. (Aller) Stants; eight children, David Roger Stants (Donna) of Ruffsdale; Darlene Sims (Sam) of Belle Vernon; Debra Painter (Kenneth) of Van Voorhis; Douglas Stants (Cindy) of Monongahela; David L. Stants (Kathy); Cindy Sokol (Edward); Tim Stants and James Stants (Patty) all of Ruffsdale; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Brick and Clara Brown both of West Newton and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Donna Stants and three brothers, infant brother, James; and Walter and Ira Paul Stants.
Family and friends are welcome at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, 724-887-7110, (an Authorized Remembrance Provider) on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm where funeral services will be held, Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Ralph Mostoller officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family would like to thank Excela Hospice for the care they provided to Mr. Stants.
