Clara R. Stauffer, 94, formerly of Scottdale, passed away, Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in Jo-Ella's Personal Care Home, Mt. Pleasant. She was born August 20, 1913 in Pittsburgh a daughter of the late David P. and Roxie King Rhea.
Clara had been employed as a secretary for the B.A. Railton Co. of Chicago, IL. She was a graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1931. Years ago, she was a volunteer at the Frick Community Hospital and the Scottdale Library. Clara was a faithful and active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Scottdale where she belonged to the United Methodist Women; Isabella Thoburn Circle; Pearl B. Clingerman Class and a member of the chancel choir for 40 years.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Nancy Rhea; David Rhea; Blair Stauffer and Mary Tallentire; and her friends Rose and David Hostetler of Scottdale.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. (Dick) Stauffer; an infant son, Richard Herbert Stauffer and a twin brother, Alvah G. Rhea.
Family and friends are welcome on Friday from 3-6 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale (724-887-7110) where services will be held Saturday at 10 am in the funeral home with her pastor, Rev.
