Clara Alberts

November 18, 1922 — May 9, 2013

Clara Alberts, 90, of Scottdale, passed away May 9, 2013 at Frick Hospital. She was born November 18, 1922 in Monessen, a daughter of the late Lodovico and Elizabeth Iovenetti.

Clara was formerly employed by Grants Department Store and K-Mart, both in Belle Vernon. After working for ten years at the Volkswagen plant, New Stanton, she retired. She was a member of the New Hope Alliance Church in Scottdale, the Mount Pleasant Senior Center, Everson Senior Center, Bullskin Senior Center, and Connellsville Social Club. In addition, she was an active volunteer for the Salvation Army since 1988.

She leaves behind her loving partner of 30 years, Ernest Stasko. He was the love of her life, always attentive and caring. Her surviving children are: Janice and husband Frank Pinto, Bluffton, S.C., Elaine Alberts, daughter-in-law, Ocoee, FL, and Karen and husband Thomas Crockett, Tampa, FL. She has four grandchildren: Laureen and husband Charles Sucek, Beaver Falls; Antoinette Vasil, S. Amboy, N.J., Gregory Vasil, Atlanta, GA, and Eric and wife Diana Alberts, Ocoee, FL. Clara also has four great grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, and Danny Perry, as well as, Billy Charette, S. Amboy, N.J.

Preceding her in death are her son, Richard Alberts; her brothers, Mario and his wife, Lee Iovenetti and Rudy and his wife, Cleo Iovenetti.

Clara loved to cook, bake, read, play cards, and watch television with Ernie. She enjoyed entertaining and had many friends and family who adored her. Clara's cat, Scooter, was a joy to her. Those who knew Clara will forever miss her enveloping love and laughter.

Viewing will be provided at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Blessings and prayers will be offered at 2:00 pm by Pastor Neil A. Stevens. Afterward, she will be cremated in accordance with her wishes. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations in loving memory of Clara Alberts to New Hope Alliance Church, 229 Pittsburgh St., Suite 5, Scottdale, PA 15683.
