Catherine Titterington

July 12, 1922 — September 11, 2011

Catherine A. Titterington, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Sunday, September 11, 2011. She was born July 12, 1922 in Uniontown a daughter of the late Charles E. Hagan and Mary (Hanlon) Hagan Neely.

Catherine retired from the housekeeping department of the former HC Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant and following retirement was a wonderful caregiver to many children. She was also a graduate of North Union High School and was Catholic by faith. She was an avid seamstress, loved to knit and enjoyed reading her mystery novels and watching John Wayne Movies. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enriched their lives greatly. Everyone who knew her was touched by her kindness and her unending patience.

Catherine is survived by her loving children, her sons, John "Jack" Titterington and his wife Karen of Madison; James Titterington and wife Sandra of Acme; her daughters, Kathleen M. Kennard of Shomokin and Colleen Bryner and her husband Paul of Normalville; eight grandchildren, Peter Kennard, Tom Kennard, John Kennard, Paul Bryner, Sarah Titterington, Robbie Titterington, Caleb Titterington and Beth Tittertington and five great-grandchildren, Declan, Aiden, Mauve and Tiernan Kennard and Haley Bryner, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ewart K. "Bud" Titterington on January 26, 1972 a grandson, Matthew Bryner on March 4, 2000 and two brothers Charles E. Hagan Jr. and Jack Hagan.

Family and friends are welcome at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110) (An Authorized Remembrance Provider), on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm where a blessing service will be held Thursday at 10am in the funeral home with Rev. E. George Saletrik officiating. Interment will follow in the Scottdale Cemetery.
