Catherine Huss

Catherine G. Huss, 92, of Scottdale, passed away, Tuesday, September 04, 2012 in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born May 21, 1920 in Dunbar Township a daughter of the late James Gibson Hair and S. Gertrude (Koontz) Hair. Mrs. Huss was secretary-treasurer of Huss Plumbing & Heating, retiring in 1993. She was an active and faithful member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She was an excellent seamstress and an avid gardener sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends. She had also been a 4H leader. She is survived by her three children, Betty Jane Ruschak and her husband Donald of Charleroi; Barbara A. Brilhart and her husband Gene of Ruffsdale; and William C. Huss and his wife Sharon of Scottdale; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband William E. Huss and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Family and friends are welcome on Friday from 2 until 8 PM at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., a remembrance provider, 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, (724) 887-7110. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Shirer officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Amber House for their care and concern.
