Betty Jean Geary

Betty Jean Geary, 92 of Scottdale passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026. She was born February 25, 1934 in Warner, OH a daughter of the late Delmar and Esther (Wunderlich) Hall.

Betty Jean worked as the office manager for Geary Chiropractic in Scottdale, alongside her husband, the late Dr. Ralph E. Geary from the 1970’s until her retirement in 2017. An active and faithful member of The Reformed Church, Scottdale since 1963, she was a member of the Women’s Guild, the Altar Guild and the Adult Fellowship Group. She spent countless hours helping with the church fundraisers, most notably the Soup and Sandwich Day, making hardtack candy and chocolate easter eggs. She was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Scottdale Rotary Club for her volunteer efforts working with her husband Ralph who was a dedicated club member. Betty Jean enjoyed crafts and crocheting, gardening, yardwork, canning, cooking and baking. She was known for making one of the best fresh peach pies.

She is survived by her devoted son, Dr. Daniel R. Geary and his wife Susan; a brother Ronald Hall (Linda) and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ralph E. Geary on April 13, 2019, two sisters, Norma Slack and Marjorie Hendershot and two brothers, Leedan and Donald Hall.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, July 16 from 2 pm until 7 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale where her funeral service will begin at 7 pm with her pastor, the Rev. TJ Lucas officiating. Private interment will take place in the Scottdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, food and gifts, memorials may be made to The Reformed Church c/o TRUCC 106 N.
