Arthur W. (Art) Bailey, Sr., 75, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Wednesday, June
9, 2010, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Bailey was born November 6, 1934 in Jenners, Somerset County a son of the late Harry E. Bailey and Evelyn Desmonti Bailey Gray.
Art retired from Derry Construction where he had been employed as a truck driver. He also worked for Armed Security at the Latrobe Airport and most recently was maintenance supervisor at Pleasant Acres Apartments in Mt. Pleasant. Years ago he was resident manager and maintenance supervisor for rental properties in Maryland. He was a musician for 39 years playing the keyboard and guitar and had performed in Nashville at the Tennessee State Fair. He was Lutheran by faith.
Art is survived by his loving wife, Maude Kirchner Bailey, two sons, Arthur W. Bailey, Jr. and wife Mary of Greensburg and Mike Bailey of Latrobe; three grandchildren, Eric, Adam and Michael Bailey; two sisters, Esther Seranko and husband Robert of Latrobe and Rose Tripodi and husband Dr. Paul of Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Sylvester Gray.
Family and friends will be received at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale (724-887-7110) on Friday from 11 am to 1 pm the hour of services with Rev.
