Anna E. Zylka, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, (Bullskin Township), passed away, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at her home. She was born January 19, 1916 in Everson a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Tkach Linko.
Anna was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. Years ago, she was employed as a nurses aide at Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Connellsville and attended St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale. She was a 51-year member of Wooddale Grange and was a graduate of St. John the Baptist Parochial School, Scottdale. She was also a life member of the Jednota Lodge and life member of the Christian Mothers of St. John's, Connellsville.
Anna is survived by her loving sons, Louis F. Zylka and his wife Mary Ann of Del Rio, TX; Edwin T. Zylka and his wife, Susan of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter in law, Angela Zylka of Webster Grove, MO; seven grandchildren, Louis Paul Zylka and wife Lolis of Del Rio, TX; Mary Lou Shick and husband Darrel of Mt. Pleasant; Margaret Zylka House and husband Max of White; Christina Suriano and husband Jeffery of Fishkill, NY and Anastasia, Alexandra and Peter Michael Zylka of Webster Grove, MO; 6 great-grandchildren, Louis Joseph Zylka; Aubrey, Mark and Daniel Shick; and Max and Isaac House; a brother, Michael Linko of Bullskin Township and a step-sister, Mary Childs of Cleveland, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis A. Zylka; her stepfather, Peter Sulkowski; a son, Dr. J. Michael Zylka; a brother, John Linko; sisters, Mary Havash and Elizabeth Ruper and a stepsister, Jenny Hangash.

at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, (724-887-7110) where Prayers of Transfer will be said at 9:30 am Wednesday followed by a funeral mass at 10 am in St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale with Fr. E. George Saletrik as celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist RC Cemetery, Connellsville. St. John's Ministry of Consolation will conduct a wake service on Tuesday at 2 pm in the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Zylka may be made to St. John the Evangelist RC Church, Connellsville or St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale
