Alberta G. “Bert” Welker, 79 of Scottdale, passed away, Thursday, August 20, 2026. She was born January 20, 1947 in Coos Bay, Oregon a daughter of the late Roland Crawford and Margaret Alberta (Waymire) Beattie.

Bert was a graduate of Marshfield High School in Coos Bay, OR and a member of the partner parish of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale. She was a lifetime member of the Tri State Quarter Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. She treasured her family and enjoyed spending time with the youth of the Westmoreland County 4H program at her ranch. Bert was an avid supporter of the 4H program over the years.

She is survived by her three daughters, Dawn Shafer and her husband Bruce; Carmen Cherrington and her husband Mike and Allison Wesler and her husband, Jonathan Wesler, Jr., her grandchildren, Tyler Shafer, Ireland Cofrancesco, Peter Cofrancesco, IV, Emma Cofrancesco, Madison Cherrington and Hailee Albaugh (Matthew), Zoey Wesler and Jonathan Wesler, III and her great-granddaughter, Layla Cofrancesco. She is also survived by her longtime employee and devoted caregiver, Lynn Waugaman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Welker on August 17, 1998; her sister, Anna Marie Walters and her brother, Mark Beattie.

Private services for the family are in the care of GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist RC Cemetery, Scottdale.
