Rosalie Wiles

June 3, 1930 — March 3, 2019

Rosalie Loraine (Weaver) Wiles, 88, of North Huntingdon, is once again united with her parents, sister and brothers in the presence of Our Lord on March 3, 2019.

Loraine was born 3 June 1930 in Howesville, WV a daughter of the late Alma (Pyles) and Jessie Winfield Weaver.  Family and close friends called her Loraine, Rain or Rainy.  She was proud to be  “A Coal Miner’s Daughter.”  Her family was among the original homesteaders of the first New Deal community, Arthurdale, WV.  She often spoke of the blessing of growing up there and spending time with President Roosevelt and his wife, Eleanor.

She loved her family and life.  She was a devoted, dedicated, doting, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Her gentle spirit was evident in all she did such as, teaching many kids from Jordan’s Harbor to swim in Cheat Lake.  She was loving toward others to the end.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, John (Bob) Robert Wiles of North Huntingdon; her four precious daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie Gath (Terry) of Ruffsdale; Shawnea Tallman (Michael) of Niceville, FL; Alisa Wiles of NY, NY and Terri Elder (John) of North Huntingdon; her grandchildren, Sandi Whittaker (Matt), Jonathan Tallman (Jennifer), Nicole, Ryan and Holly Elder; and her great-grandchildren, Josh Keener, Nathan Tallman and Olivia Grace Tallman.  Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Nancy and Vesta Weaver and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rainy is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Maynard and Ruby Weaver, Manford Weaver, Roy Lee (Tink) Weaver, John and Jean Weaver and Lenora and Junior Kyle.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, where services will take place at 7 p.m. and conclude with visitation until 8 p.m. Interment will take place in the Arthurdale Cemetery, Arthurdale, WV.  To share a message of sympathy, please visit www.gjfuneral.com
