Melvin L. Malik, Sr.

August 9, 1922 ~ April 16, 2018 (age 95)

Melvin L. Malik, Sr, 95 of Scottdale (Kingview), passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born August 9, 1922 in Everson a son of the late Peter and Dora (Collins) Malik.

Melvin was a machinist having been employed by US Steel Mining for over 40 years.   A creative and witty individual, Melvin used his sense of humor, ingenuity and problem-solving skills in many facets of his life.  He was well known to many for his love of restoring antique cars, which he shared with his late son, Lenn.  He was a member of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America and the Antique Automobile Club of America.  Melvin was awarded first place at the Hershey Antique Auto Club of America show and was very proud of the Grand National award he received at Seven Springs in the Oldsmobile category. He also received several awards nationally for his vintage and antique automobiles.  Above all else, was  his dedication and devotion to his wife and family, leading by example, teaching them valuable life lessons. He was also a member of the Pennsville Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores (Corvin) Malik; his cherished daughters, Darla Loucks and her fiance, David Adanitsch, and Lori Wiltrout and her husband, Tim; his daughter in law, Betsy Malik; three grandchildren, Beth Morris (Greg); Erin Jones (Chris) and Jake Wiltrout; two great-grandchildren, Charlie Morris and Hunter Jones; his sister, Dora Curry, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Melvin L. “Lenn” Malik, Jr. on August 19, 2015; and three brothers, Donald, George and Warren Malik.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale where Melvin’s funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 pm with Rev. Robert H. Bixel and Rev.
