Catherine Zottola

April 16, 1924 — September 18, 2017

Catherine A. “Betty” Zottola, 93 of Scottdale, formerly of Indiana, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 18, 2017 at her home with the love of her family around her.  She was born April 16, 1924 in Pittsburgh a daughter of the late Anthony and Clara (Spena) Arcuri.

A loving homemaker, Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.  She was a member of the Partner parish of St. John the Baptist RC Church, Scottdale.  She served as a volunteer at the former St. John the Baptist School, Scottdale and was a volunteer for the Indiana Red Cross.  Betty enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, cooking and baking which she did so lovingly for the enjoyment of her family.

She is survived by her three children, Anita M. Fabian and husband, Joe of Scottdale; Arthur J. Zottola and wife, Mindy of Indiana; and Patricia M. Wojton of Wilmerding; grandchildren, Sheri Barr (Patrick); Jenni Leger (Jay); Christopher Fabian; Nicholas Fabian; Kristina Zottola and Kayleigh Zottola;  step grandson, Kylen Sawtelle; great-grandchildren, Zachary Zottola Barr and Logan and Whitney Leger;  her daughter in law, Donna Zottola of Mabank, Texas; her sister, Dolores Murphy and husband, Bill of Pittsburgh and all of her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Zottola (May 30, 2002); her son, Richard P. Zottola (August 15, 2017), and brothers and sisters, Salvatore Arcuri, Frances Santoriello, Helen Houck and Peter Arcuri.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday from 2 to 8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale where Prayers of Transfer will be said on Friday at 10:30 am followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 am in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Andrew M. Kawecki as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.  A parish wake service will be held on Thursday at 7:45 pm in the funeral home.  To share a message of sympathy, please visit www.gjfuneral.com
