Robert Lane

June 25, 1927 — September 29, 2016

Robert H. (Bob) Lane, 89 of Scottdale, passed away suddenly, Thursday, September 29, 2016 at his home.  He was born June 25, 1927 in Connellsville a son of the late William and Nellie (Wyatt) Lane.

Bob retired from Kendi, Inc. where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator.  He was a longtime and active member of the Scottdale Church of Christ where he served as an Elder, drove the church bus, and served in numerous roles over the years.  He delivered meals on wheels for Connellsville Senior Tigers and also held Sunday Church Services for several years at the Scottdale Manor Apartments where he resided along with his wife Evelyn.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Leroy Lane and Arthur Ray Lane.

Surviving is his loving wife of 65 years, Evelyn (Miller) Lane; his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mark Barr; two grandchildren, Jason Barr and his wife Julie; and Laurie Beth Wallace and her husband Shane; three great-grandchildren, Lily Wallace, Lucian Wallace and Zachary Barr and a great-granddaughter, Zoe Barr, whose birth is expected soon.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from noon-2 pm and 5 to 7 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale.  Additional visitation will take place on Monday from 10 to 11 am in the Scottdale Church of Christ 215 N. Chestnut Street, Scottdale, where Bob’s funeral service will take place at 11 am with Pastor Al Thomas and Pastor Robert Chambers co-officiating.  Private interment will take place in Green Ridge Memorial Park.
