Marjorie George

June 24, 1920 — January 9, 2016

Marjorie M. George, 95, of Scottdale, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Woodcrest Senior Living Community where she resided.

Mrs. George was a teacher having taught in the Warren, Ohio School District and was also a substitute teacher for the Mt. Pleasant Area School District.  She was a member of Reunion Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant, where she formerly served as an elder and was a member of the Women’s Association.  She had also belonged to the Mt. Pleasant Women’s Club and the Saturday Afternoon Club.  She was also an active volunteer for the Mt. Pleasant Salvation Army Service unit along with her late husband, Robert L. George who preceded in death on March 18, 2015.

Mrs. George is survived by her daughter, Martha A. Sitler and husband Mark of Douglassville, Pa; her son, William R. George and wife Sandy of Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren, Brandon George and wife Laura and Darcy Firmstone and husband William; two sisters-in-law, Betty Queer of Cranberry Twp and Betty George of Greensburg and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. 303 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Susan Washburn officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt.
